Legal cases processed in first instance courts by legal status of the court process (since 2022)

The indicator include the number of cases divided by status incoming (brought to court)/resolved/pending at the end of the year for the categories criminal (total) and other than criminal (non-criminal) (total). It's collected by the Commission for the efficiency of justice (CEPEJ) of the Council of Europe (CoE).

Rule of Law

This indicator captures perceptions of the extent to which agents have confidence in and abide by the rules of society, and in particular the quality of contract enforcement, property rights, the police, and the courts, as well as the likelihood of crime and violence.

Access to civil justice

This indicator measures the accessibility and affordability of civil courts, including whether people are aware of available remedies; can access and afford legal advice and representation; and can access the court system without incurring unreasonable fees, encountering unreasonable procedural hurdles, or experiencing physical or linguistic barriers.

Criminal record certificates issued

Monthly indicator of the number of paid online orders.

Cases filed in and released from court archives

Annual indicator of the number of cases entering and leaving court archives.

Months to resolve labor dispute

Average number of months estimated by owners or top managers of businesses as necessary to resolve a labor dispute, whether through agreement, court decision, or other mechanism.

Perceptions of mediation being a reliable alternative to courts for resolving commercial disputes

Degree to which owners or top managers of businesses perceive mediation as a credible and effective alternative to courts in dispute resolution.
